Sept 23, 1990 - Quick setup for the HAYES ULTRA on GT Power v15.50
Load MYGT.CNF (my GT.CNF file) and your GT.CNF file into a text editor
like QEDIT and compare the lines. You should only change lines that
matter like the connect/result codes, and the DTE/DCE settings.
The ones that I can think of right off the bat are:
RC=0,0,OK
RC=1,1,CONNECT
RC=2,2,RING
RC=3,3,NO CARRIER
RC=4,4,ERROR
RC=5,5,CONNECT 1200
RC=6,6,NO DIALTONE
RC=7,7,BUSY
RC=8,8,NO ANSWER
RC=9,CONNECT 4800
RC=10,CONNECT 2400
RC=11,
RC=12,
RC=13,CONNECT 9600
RC=14,CONNECT 4800/ARQ
RC=15,CONNECT 1200/ARQ
RC=16,CONNECT 2400/ARQ
RC=17,CONNECT 9600/ARQ
RC=18,CONNECT 19200/ARQ,CONNECT 38400/ARQ
BA=19200
LB=1200
MB=38400
CS=TRUE
RS=TRUE
MI=ATZ0|
SY=ATM1|
SN=ATM0|
HO=ATZ1|
I have these two lines in there for safety:
S8=CONNECT 19200
S9=CONNECT 38400
And be sure that FIXED DTE is set to FALSE, because this setup allows
non-error correcting callers to get their baud rate, but
error-controlled calls get bumped up to 19200. I have my host mode
baud rate "ceiling" at 19200 simply because some door programs do not
like running at 38400; however, my terminal dialing directory has 38400
baud rates for dialing out.
In the file HAYESSET.TXT are my settings for my ULTRA. You will need to
set everything up like you want it in the current profile to match
profile 0, and then do an AT&W0. Then set everything up like it is in
profile 1 and do an AT&W1.
Also, make DOUBLY SURE that S95=2 !! I also had some difficulties getting
S36 right, so if you have problems with S36=7, then use S36=5.
If you need any further assistance, call The Rising Connection at
615-531-8789.

Cory Wright -- Sysop, The Rising Connection, HAYES ULTRA V.32
